Daniel Radcliffe is OK, I am not a fan of Harry himself I think he is annoying

Rupert Grint is perfect as Ron, he is funny and is exactly as I thought Ron would be when I was reading the books

Emma Watson is great as Hermione she is prettier then I thought Hermione would be but she is a good actress a plays Hermione's character perfectly

Robbie Coltrane is perfect as Hagrid, I have liked him for years as an actor and he is just how I imagined Hagrid to be

Alan Rickman is great as Snape, another amazing actor that I have admired for years for his work

Richard Harris and Micheal Gambon have both done amazing jobs as Dumbledore, Micheal is not as good as Richard was, when I was watching the Philoshopers Stone I thought that Richard was perfect for the part but Micheal is doing a great job too

Tom Felton as Draco is great, he again is a great actor I loved him in Anna and the King and The Borrowers before Harry Potter but he brings out Draco's bad character even though he is such a nice guy himself

I love the books as well as the movies, the way that I watch the movies is they are different to the books, I don't think about the books when watching them, or think about what is missing I just enjoy seeing it come to life on screen. I can not wait for The Order of the Phoenix next year

There are a lot of great actors and actresses in the Harry Potter movies, so it is tough to name the best. I'll list the ones that I think are just as I'd hoped they would be when I was reading the books.

Best suited: Richard Harris (original Dumbledore), Maggie Smith (McGonagall), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), Alan Rickman (Snape), Kenneth Bragnah (Lockhart), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), and Julie Walters (Mrs. Weasley).

Worst suited: Michael Gambon (new Dumbledore), I just think that he is a poor fit for the role. He doesn't have any of the grace, understated power, lighthearted merriment, or appearance of infinite wisdom that Richard Harris brought to the role. He seems to overact and is portraying Dumbledore as erratic and tempermental. Ian McKellen, (who played Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings movies) or Peter O'Toole, (who played Trojan King Priam in Troy) would've made a far more believable Dumbledore.

The only really bad actor is the new Dumbledore. He just doesn't get it. The real DD would never grab and shake Harry like he did. I blame the writer and the director too.

My favorite is Allen Rickman as Snape. Now only a couple of the actors took advantage of the offer to meet with J.K. Rowling and talk to her about their part. Rickman was one of those. I think that this shows that he takes his job seriously and want to do his best for the fans.

It is really a pity that Michael Gambon is playing DD because he just does not understand the essence of his character. And DD is the second most important character in the series after Harry. I wish the fans would get together and write to WB and tell them to improve Gambon's portrayal of DD.

I love McGonagal and both Dumbledores. Snape rocks too. Hagrid is perfect for his part. I had to get used to Ron and Hermoine, but now the seem to fit the part. I think Daniel Radcliff is is great Harry Potter. And, the Dursley are well-cast also.

ok i agree with tonks here... new Dumbledore SUCKS!!

i mean SERIOUSLY i was so upset at movie #4 cuz the whole time dumbledore switched between american and english wannabe accents, and shook harry, was completely rude and obnoxious.. there was absolutely NO radiation of peaceful power, or underlying strength beneath an old physique... the original dumbledore was good. i do think that Ian McKlellan would've made a WONDERFUL dumbledore, cuz his gandalf was awesome.. really had a twinkle in his eye even tho he was an old man!

i think each and every actor has portrayed the character they r playing pretty well. I read the books first and then saw the movies and it was like I imagined them...so I think the whole cast is gr8...
BTW if u only watch the movie without reading the books, u won't get the whole thing, read the books first people then the movies will be fascinating

Robbie Coltraine is the perfect choice for Hagrid.
Same with the chap who plays Snape.
Both Dumbledores have been better than average
Malfoy sr. and jr. are ok.
The director could have found a better key grip though

oh my Almeida I'm glad somebody asked this. Ron, defiantly, is the most ill-suited. I don't know the actor's name. He is the most annoying, ugly, and repulsive person i have ever seen. it seems like he is always doing his "I'm frighted" look with a squished up face. and his voice gets all squeaky sometimes. And his hair i slowly getting longer so now he looks like a girl. and...okay, I'd better stop, I'm sure you get the point.
