What is it with women who cheat and think it is ok, but if their main man cheats on her, she raises heck?

I know it's just a tv show, but Desperate Housewives heavily illustrates this double standard. I'm sure this happens in real life, to some degree.

The idea of cheating is crap.

If you're not in a committed relationship you're not cheating you're just not adhering to the standard expectations that you will be monogamous because you are part of a couple. And if you are committed, once you cheat you have essentially ended your relationship because you have gone outside the bounds of the foundation of your agreement.

To find someone else without formally ending your situation is foolish regardless of gender because you are exhibiting selfish behavior which makes you an unworthy candidate.

So to rap up, I don't believe in cheating. It's just another way to capture attention.

Double standards exist all over society. Debra Lefavre got 6 months house arrest for sleeping with a 14 year old boy. Had the situation been reversed and a male teacher was sleeping with a 14 year old girl he'd be sent to prison for 6 years and labled a sexual predator. Bush can lie to start a war and that's okay with conservatives but when Clinton lied about an affair to them it was reason enough to try and impeach him. Double standards will never go away. Live with it.

Cheating is unacceptable no matter what sex you are. Just don't watch Desperate Housewives then. Why is it that when men sleep around they are called studs but women are called whores? How about that double standard?

Umm...EVERYONE that cheats is okay with themselves doing it. If they weren't, then NEWSFLASH! they wouldn't have done it. I don't know anyone in their right mind that cheats and is okay with their partner doing it. It has absolutely nothing to do with gender. And, to put all references to that stupid show (that I watch faithfully every Sunday), if that show was at all like real life, Gabrielle wouldn't even have been caught. Women are WAY better and more discreet about doing these things.

no double standard here, there are just as many male cheaters as female cheaters.
if you cheat and she forgives you, she owes it to herself to cheat at least one time just to let you know what it was like for her and you probably won't ever cheat again.
hurts, don't it?

It's an excuse. A poor excuse at that. If it's not ok for one person, it's not ok for the other. The end.
