i have tried to watch dvds in my ps2 as my dvd player packed in and it is asking for the perental code, what is this??ta x

Kal- El is correct. I had trouble playing dvds on my ps2 and the original ps2 manual mentioned that code.

the playstation2 parental code is a code in which you need to know (or guess right =)) in order to watch the dvd...

you set it when you first started up the console. if you got your's used, then i guess you are screwed.
