Talk to your best friend about it. If it's mutual between you and this guy, a good friend will understand (even though she might be hurt at first.)

This question is something i,m familiar with my teenage daughter and her friend of 10 years are going through the same thing right now.My daughters friend liked this boy and was seeing him periodically, but the boy didn't quite feel the same way(for the friend)he was actually trying to hook up with my daughter by be-friending the friend,in the end my daughter started to like the boy her self and asked the friend if she would mind if they started dating,of course the friend said she wouldn't mind, but she did. What you need to do is look at it from both sides. How would you feel to see your friend with the guy and then ask yourself how would she feel. There,s plenty of fish in the sea,but i,m not so sure about best friends. So ask yourself if this guy is really worth it.

Well, the best thing to do is for you to both stop liking him. Or at least one of you. Losing your best friend over a boy is not a good thing- So even though you both like each other, you shouldn't date him. You should talk to him about you and your friends situation. And if you really feel like you can't stop liking him, you need to talk to your friend and explain to her how much you value her friendship and that you know she likes the same boy- and the boy likes you. Good luck....

If she is your best friend, then be the better friend and step back. How old are you guys? If things don't work out with him and her, then you can be her shoulder to cry on. There will be a million boys to come your way, but only one best friend. Don't let a boy ruin your friendship with this girl. Good luck, kids!!

This is a perfect chance to find out if polyamory works for all of you. Nothing is wrong with two women loving one man or two men loving one woman, as long as they are open and aboveboard about it. It's trying to keep things hidden from one or another of the partners in a multi-way affair that causes trouble.

Call a truce and neither of you go after him, friends are much more important than some guy who may or may not like you. You'll end up liking him for a month but lose your friend forever... it's not worth it.
