Go sign up at a respectable agency....you should have heard of them before...or check out the local association for models/agencies for accredicated agancies to play safe. Best of luck to achieve your dream! I'm so jealous:)

You go find a couple of good models agencies and ask them about their opinion of you.
Before you sign anything choose the right agency by reputation and never sign with an agency you don't feel comfortable going to.
My best guess is that you will have to pay for a test shoot. When you do that don't chose the cheapest option. The result of the test shoot can give you good jobs.
As with other jobs first you pay and then you get paid. First you spend money on education and then find a job. For a model the test shoots are their "education"
Ask for your agent to help you. To teach you how to walk, how to wear make up and how to dress when meeting clients.
Before you make any big demands be sure your muscles really hurt by the weight of your Book. You have to realize that when you go to castings and jobs you don't have an opinion. You are only allowed to ask how to do things the way the client wants.
Of course you don't have to do a job you don't like (nudity, underwear) but that's something you discuss with your agent before you sign any kind of contract

Go check out your local agencies talk with some of the students as well to get unbiased thoughts. As far as pay goes, you will have to pay for the course and head shots and any equipment needed (ie:makeup, clothes for interviews). You should not have to pay the agency if they are hiring you out. First thing first - drop the 'they should be paying ME' attitude, divas are a dime a dozen!

Go to modelsearchnyc.com and see when they will be having a casting call in your town. That is what I did and you do not have to pay any money at all. No repectable modeling agency will ever ask you for money up front.

Find agencies in your area. Send them snapshots and a resume (if you have anything you could put on one) or go to open calls. A legitimate agency will train you for free; they make their money on commission from getting you a job. You will have to pay a photographer for headshots, but don't get them until you have an agent and know what basic types of pictures they require you to have in your portfolio.

you Will have to pay absurd amounts of money at first to get started...you will have to get head shots...go around to different modeling agency's and if you get accepted to them...they will want more money to promote you and get you jobs...you will only get paid if you actually get hired for a job.....you do not get paid by the agent...you pay them a percentage of everything you make

Get an agent. Real agenecies will not ask for money, though. Keep that in mind to filter out the con artists. Good luck!
