Rent a room in your house to a complete stranger just to make ends meet?
Why or why not?
Me, I don't think I would. I don't think I'd ever be able to sleep knowing there was a stranger in my house that could steal me blind, or kill me.♥

That was a regular practice in my parents’ generation. Today, for reasons which you so eloquently state, it is not such a good idea. Even with a background check, a person can hide his dark side well…until you wake up to see him standing over you at night with a carving knife in his hand.

Well, I'm in college right now, so the idea of sharing a house (dorm) with a complete stranger doesn't sound too far-fetched. Then again, I don't have that much to steal yet. If I had my own house it might be different.

I would consider doing it. I could see a situation where someone -- let's say a widow who was in a position while her husband was alive to not have to work, and doesn't have many marketable skills -- where that might be one of a few viable options. But I'd have to do some serious screening and take some measures for safety.

No, not a complete stranger. I'd take the recommendations of freinds and ensure the boarder was employed.

I wouldn't do that...people are just too weird nowadays; especially so should they invite people they know into your home...
Get a second job instead!

No. Dragon would not like sharing her house. That other person might touch Dragon's stuff and move it and put it in places where Dragon can't find it and that would make Dragon CRAZY!

No way. Firstly, I would never be that broke, and secondly, there is just no way some freak I don't know is going to live in my home.
