If you purchased your computer within the last 2 years, then I will just about promise you that it is enabled.
If your computer is a little older, or if you built it yourself, then
right click on the "My Computer" icon. then click "Properties",
then "Hardware" and "Device Manager".
Then click on the "+" next to "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers.
Then, right click on the Primary IDE Channel and click properties.
Click on Advanced Settings. The "Transfer Mode" should say, "DMA if available". You have DMA enabled.
If you are running on Windows 98 or Windows 95, it's a little different. You go through the same steps as above, but instead of checking the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, you check each drive seperately.
