I love your question, though I really couldn't tell you how much they would lose from 1000 people. I once saw a presentation where 5 different 2 liter bottles were filled up and it showed what a small percentage of the oil profits come from America (about 1/4 of 1 of the 2 liters).
Anyway, as far as what other products come from oil, there are thousands.

If the average consumer can switch from oil to hydrogen it would really go a long way to bring down the price of oil for the other products.

Perhaps if there was a nation wide uniform stoppage, that would be the ONLY thing to get the oil company's attention. Hence, why the electric car (which was invented in 1909 by Thomas Edison) hasn't been forwarded to common auto technology, as an affordable and readily available option. It's just another big business that runs the government machine.
Tires are another comodoty that comes from oil. Hence...the car. Why do you think Ford keeps getting government subsidies? think about it.

compared to the billions of dollars in profit they are pulling in, not enough to bat an eye at. Considering that your average person is going to drive around 12K miles a year @ at an average of 25 miles per gallon.and factoring in a profit of $1 per gallon, you are only looking at a loss of $480,000 (this goes lower if these people turn to public transportation that uses gasoline) we are looking at a loss of .0048% compared to Exxons $10B profit.
Lets say you make $50K in a year, that is like losing $2.40 in change in between the couch cusions over the course of a year.... you aren't going to care and you probably wont notice.

Let's say they all drive Hummers, have a lead foot and have long commutes.
150 miles per day
10 mile /gal
365 days/year
$3.00 per gal
1000 (people)*15 (gallons perday)*365 (days)*3 ($/per gal) = $16,425,000.00/year
