Most women don't just whip it out and display everything. Most women are discrete about it so it's not a big deal to me.
If you don't like it you don't have to look.

I don't have a problem with it - hell, I say that b!tching about it should be punishable by poorly done acupuncture - but I would just like to point out that society wouldn't be suffering as much if people would just get over the little things (a mother nursing her child, regardless of location at the time) and apply that focus on things that really matter (like making sure there's affordable health insurance so the child remains healthy).

I think for the most part it beautiful and natural. It's amazing to watch a mother and child bond.
On the other hand though- you always have that one trashy Mom who acts like nursing their baby is a strip show. You can usually identify them by the materiality half tops and hot pink rhinestone jogging suit. It's a shame because those people ruin it for all Mothers!! I saw a girl about 23-24 doing this in the mall..... she just got her plastic nails airburshed...... it was a real treat.

I would not be such a dork that I had to write a Yahoo Question about it. Are you a very immature twelve year old? Or a retard? This is how mothers have fed their babies as long as there have been mammals. If it's too much for you to handle, don't go out in public. That will not only spare you the chance you might happen to see an infant get nourished in a natural way. It would also spare anyone else out in public from having to see you.

I've done it on the bus, subway, in the mall, just about anywhere. Sure I got some dirty looks, but had anyone actually said anything to me, I'd tell 'em where to go! If they think it's so awful,why don't they just stay home where they won't see it? Nobody tells them to go to the bathroom to eat, why should my baby?
I love it, I think it's great, and I think society should be more supportive of nursing mothers.

It should be fine for a woman to nurse her baby wherever. It is a natural thing. There's no where as uptight about this as in the good ol' U.S. For some reason we have to make everything sexual. Shame on us.

as a mother of 4 i bottle fed my kids but thats my choice seeing a women breastfeed her child in a public place doesnt bother me at all its the most natural thing in the world and besides most women are so descreet about it you wouldnt even notice.

I'm not too comfortable with it, though I think it's fine in principle. I just think many people (myself included) have been brainwashed by 100 years of repressed, Western culture that says it's FINE to show breasts for the sake of porn, but not for their original use (nursing!). Women did it for millions of years, so it's SOCIETY that has the problem, not the nursing women.

I would be fine with it. Most breastfeeding mothers who nurse in public are pretty discreet about it.

It does not offend me at all. I wish more mothers will breast feed. Mother's milk is the healthiest nourishment for the baby. I think it also prevents obesity and all kinds of illnesses later on in life.
