Try dressing up as a common sense ethic. Everything is heading towards its own unique perfect destiny. Just as a knife fulfils its purpose by cutting well, human beings are fulfilled and happy when they are functioning well.

you could do joker and batman. joker: thick baby powder for the white, black cream make up(real cheap), and if you want red lip stick for the smile, with green hair spray(also cheap). on batman there's really cheap plastic masks that have a string on the back and cover your face. you can get that and wear black clothes with some kind of home made cape. a black blanket would work nicely. hope this helps

What about a fallen angel? I did that last year with a black, tattered, almost Goth-like dress and black wings. My makeups was dark and almost not right (intentionally). Many people loved that costume!
