They don't want to compete for ratings with the World Series...after it's over they'll air new episodes again (unless they've been cancelled forever...just kidding).
Alot of shows do reruns during the World Series.

Probably because the world series was on. The networks don't want to "waster" a new episode on a night when alot of people might be watching something else, like the world series, the emmy's, the oscars, etc.

Networks traditionally schedule reruns every night during the world series afte game three is over. they don't want to hear he complaints of peolpe who miss an episode because of the games. This way they get good ratings next week.

Me, too!
I think it may have something to do with all the publicity about on set problems between Isaiah Washington and Patrick Dempsey. Apparently they had a fight that's caused major tension on the set. Maybe this all delayed shooting of a new episode? That'd be my guess.

Because Sweeps start in November so they played 2 re-run episodes so that next week they'll probably have more viewers during sweeps- when they need them the most.

Because it was a rerun.....so the show that aired last night was already available online.
