Ok clearly this is not a life and death issue. The problem is, he likes primetime tv shows (like Lost, The Unit, CSI) and I can't stand crap like that. I wish there was something else we could do together instead of watching the boob tube. Other than the obvious, isn't there anything newly-moved-in-togethers can do in the evenings together? I got the Playstation out be he doesn't like video games. I can do things on my own but I wish we could do some things together.

Agree with the DVR solution. How 'bout joining a gym and working out together? Or cooking fabulous dinners together? Or going to a coffee shop/bar/book store and chatting or reading together? Hubby and I fell into the same rut and all of these things helped us get out of it. When there's a night he MUST watch Lost, we watch it over a bottle of wine. By the time the show's over, we're pretty buzzed and have fun just hanging out and being silly together. Good luck, Girl!

When I met my live-in he did not subscribe to TV. We still do not have TV. It takes up too much time. In the evenings we read together outside with a fire, or watch a DVD or play on our boat, or build something together or just close the door and love on each other. Let me tell you, I don't miss TV AT ALL! Thye other ritual we have is two-hour tub time. He runs a lovely bubble bath in our garden tub with tons of candles. We bathe and talk and make love for hours. We do this nightly and it nevers wears out.

This may sound weird, but get TIVO; it will change both of your lives. Because he can skip the commercials, the programs will be much shorter (40min for and hour show, 20 min for a 1/2 hour show) Most importantly, he will not need to watch TV at night. He can watch it anytime he wants. He can watch his shows when you are occupied with something else.

Board games, pool, darts, go out for a drink, go bowling. Sitting at home at nights just watching TV or playing computer games is pretty boring and gets old after a while. While one might enjoy it, it might make the other one so bored crazy. Staying at home is fine just find something besides TV and computer to do.

If he is a TV-aholic, you got problems. Only emergency surgery to remove the TV remote can save him.

Best of luck cause yes, my first wife was like that and wouldnt change for love nor money.

Good Luck

I would suggest try cooking together. My now hubby and I did this a few times when we first got together and it was a lot of fun. Sometimes he would take the lead and pick something other times I did.

I agree with James :)

The guys got to learn though also to meet you half way. You watch his for a bit.. and he watches yours for a bit, or you do something together. He gets 2 hours or so of your time, and you get 2 hours or so of his time.
