Actually, you're wrong. The name Tri-dent is correct, because their initial ad campaign said it does three things, 1) freshens breath 2) whitens teeth, and 3) helps prevent cavities. So Tri-dent should remain as it is.

That would only apply to the whitening gum. The original, before whitening did three things. My mind is slipping though to determine just what though

It might become confused with "Buy" and contravene marketing laws on subliminal advertising. At least "try-dent" provides consumers with a sense of security, a free trial.
