The only reason I can think of to talk about them as separate groups is that children of biracial households (parents are different races) may have a different racial identity than children whose parents identify as members of the same race.
Other than that, I think it's all pretty irrelevant.

I think that some light-skinned African-Americans are decended directly from slaves who were raped by their masters. The children born in such a situation would still be slaves, and their descendants would be culturally only African-American. Whereas the children of parents of different races who decided to have children together would have been influenced by both cultures. But their children and their children's children, not necessarily.

People will always categorize. It makes things easier. Like cars for example. Sedans and coupes are easier to think about in broad sweeping terms than every make and model. Perhaps its a broad generalization. We do it with dogs too. There's purebred, then there are these hybrid dogs like the cockapoo. After they get mixed some more they're mutts.
Its just easier to generalize. Therein lies the basis of prejudice.

Honestley, nowadays everybody has more than one race mixed into them somewhere down the road, if they weren't seperated everyone would be considered mixed. U feel me? Light skinned people are still black, maybe they're great great great great grandmother was raped by her slave master or something, technically she's mixed but she's still black. If one parent is one race and the other parent is a different race, then thats considered mixed. U dig?

Why does this matter? Why does there have to be a separation on the colour of our skin. We are all people, we are all human, we are all the same. Why do we need to seperate? And so specifically?
Why cant we all be in one category - human?

There is NO SUCH THING as a "fullblood." Over the million years of man's history on earth --- ever since our beginnings in Africa --- we have CONSTANTLY mixed and remixed our genetic heritage, so everyone on earth is a mixture of many, many strains.
