Depends if you are sheltered or your parents are absent and they let you run the streets. In general, the "ghetto" provides more opportunites to fight and hone your skills because it is more violent than the suburbs due to socioeconomic reasons.

I don't know about better fighter, but more likely to fight yes. It's a different world in ghetto. It's a hard life there and they come out with way different look on life than suburb kids.

No but growing up in the ghetto makes you stronger as for as mentality goes because you know where you came from and you focus on getting away. If you grew up in the ghetto then you know you have to make the right choices in order to move out and have a better life for yourself.

You don't have to have grown up in the Ghetto to be able to defend yourself. My cousin grew up in the Ghetto and he STILL gets his @$$ kicked on an almost daily basis whereas I didn't grow up in the Ghetto, yet I'm a moderately high degree blackbelt in Ninjutsu. It depends on how you handle yourself, I guess.

What kind of ghetto. I am assuming you mean neighbborhoods where mostly blacks live. There are the city projects which are infested with drugs and violence. There are tree-lined streets with private homes where it is a pleasure to be.
But if you are referring to the rougher neighborhoods, I would imagine you are right. That would make a very interesting sociological study, though.

Not at all. Growing up in the hood just means you talk more chit before you get to business. People with nothing to lose as would be the case for many people from the hood would be quicker to stab or shoot you so pick and choose your battles wisely. Never fear any man though. Just be smart.

That seems to make sense in many cases, but IMO, it really depends on the person and their life experience. I grew up in a semi-suburban, rural area and beat up most of the kids (even older ones) in my neighborhood and school (the nuns were a great example!). It mostly had to do w/my mom smacking me around 'cos she had no idea how to discipline...AND my dad teaching me self-defense at age 5. His instructions: "Never start a fight but know how to finish one!". Yep. So...any kid can be violent, given the wrong kind of discipline.

no but i surpose in a way if you lived in a "ghetto" then maybe you have more street fighting skills from just bare hand fighing whereas sum1 from the suburbs probably has got more proffessional training or will not be used to one on one feirce fighting!

Probably helps. If you survive growing up in the ghetto no one could stop you.
