in my local dept store they only have shade 1 and i have used that before but find its very light. I assumed that 2 and 3 might be for slightly warmer shades of skin - the woman behind the counter howver tells me that shades 2 and 3 are not the same product i.e. the dont have the light reflective elements of shade 1 and are indeed only concealers.

it all felt a bit suspect to me - why are they called touche eclat then? YSL already have a wide range of concealers.

any advice much appreciated.
thanks!!

I work in a perfumery and cosmetics department and have found out that touche eclat (the light reflecting highligter) is only available in one shade- it is translucent and suits all skin types when applied properly. It should only be sold by trained consultants who can demonstrate how to apply.
The concealer version- available in shades 1,2 and 3 is for covering blemishes such as spots, dark circles and redness on the skin.

I discovered touche eclat did different shades about three years ago in Italy. I've got olive skin and find that shade 2 does the job better than shade one. Sack the woman behind the counter! Get shade 2 if you want it!!!!

I think you're right. I used to use shade no'1 all the time and then stopped for a while. However, when I went back to it I found it far too pale. Shade no'2 is much better. I don't know what that consultant is on about .

I didn't realise they made different shades. Touche Eclat isn't really a concealer, you know. It's more for highlighting. Maybe the woman was right.
