The 'Red Indians' in America was called so by the first European voyagers to America because they thought that they had landed in India when they reached America and native people of America were Indians. They were people of Mongolian origin with rather a yellowish color. Due to this color the Europeans called them red Indians.
Indians in India belong to Aryan and Dravidian races.
