Well, mine would have to be from over 2 decades ago (Geez, am I that old?) I was maybe 12 at the time and was a regular night owl on the weekends. I loved to stay up and watch old scary movies on TV. I am from the Cleveland, Ohio area and a local TV station ran "Big Chuck and Little John" hosted movies from like 11:30 till 2am or something.
I was alone in the basement of my house, watching an old B&W television and the movie was the orignial "Carrie". May dad was a light sleeper so I had to keep the volume down. So I sat close to the TV so I could hear the dialogue. It was the last scene of the movie when Carrie's hand comes out of the ground from her grave... I kid you not, that's the absoulte closest I have EVER come to soiling myself from fear.
It was awhile before I stayed up watching scary movies again!
Thanks for the fun question. I got a kick out of reading everyone's responces!

For me I have two:
Halloween--When the boyfriend who got stabbed in the stomach with a huge knife suddenly comes swinging out of a closet upside down, my tough brother even jumped.
Child's Play--When I was a kid this movie scared me to death esp. since my step-sister had a red-headed doll with huge eyes at the time. Anyway, the first time Chucky suddenly jumped up and killed someone I ran from the room with tears in my eyes. Now looking back I have to laugh because it's just ridiculous.

I'm with VA Girl-I saw that scene and I couldn't sleep for days. Another good scary moment was in the Blair Witch Project when Heather runs downstairs and sees Mike just standing in the corner and then she is knocked down-again, no sleep

The Grudge when when the "creature" came up through the woman's bed and pulled her in. Being in bed under the covers had always been a safe and comforting experience, especially when watching scary movies, right up until I saw that scene.

When Matt Hooper was diving beneith a washed out boat, he came across a large hole in the bow. As he was removing the shark teeth imbedded in the wood, the fisherman's head came rolling out the hole and into Hooper. The movie was "Jaws."
I jumped pretty high then!

I have so many! I get scared really easily-I dont know why I even watch these movies in the first place!
the ring-where samara starts crawling out of the telly
the others-where nicole kidman lifts the blanket and its the old woman instead of her daughter
this isnt a horror movie but in red eye when they were in the house scared the hell out me! I was watching behind my hands and nearly hit the ceiling when he jumped out!

I was watching the Psycho remake - the one with Vince Vaughn or Vincent D'Onofrio (I can't tell them apart) - with a friend of mine in the theater.
At the exact moment Norman jumped out in his mother getup, my friend grabbed me, and I SCREAMED! She thought it was the funniest thing ever, but for some reason, no one else in the theater did. :) I'll never forget it.
Also, Candyman is the best horror film ever. "IT WAS ALWAYS YOUUU.... HELEN...." and who could forget the BEES!

Friday the 13th Part V: Jason Lives. I was 13 and I watched it at a birthday party. I had to call my Mom to come and get me in front of all the guys from my class. I had nightmares for the next 3 months anytime there was a thunderstorm...
Damn Hockey Masks...Chee-Chee-Chee Ha-Ha-Ha
The sound made just before Jason kills someone...brrr...chills down my spine...

The very first time I saw JAWS when I was a kid - & the head popped out of the bottom of the boat! I was holding a box of mini jawbreakers & when I threw my hands up to cover my eyes, the candy flew everywhere!!! Everybody around me laughed, tho, so it was okay. But that was truly frightening!!!!
