Duo Core is better than P4 with 3.6GHZ. recently, Intel has stopped measuring speed in GHZ. They want something like PPP, Performance per Watt. Duo Core has two cores. If you do play big games & graphic designing, you should definitely go for duo core, 'coz if 1 core is busy, other core will start working.

Despite the fact that Intel Pentium 4 has more Ghz then the Intel duo Core processor. The Dual Core allows syncrinization between two processors which means faster access time and better preformance. If you were to compare processors it would be asking what is better Intel Celeron 2.2ghz or Intel Pentium 4 2.2ghz. They are the same but the only reason one cost more then the others is the L2 Cache that each processors has. The Duo Core Processors are going to be the new line of processors for computer.

The name is Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Duo. Say it with me everyone, CORE 2 DUO. I still cannot figure out why it is so hard for people to say it right. (I am referring to the answerers, not you, yours was just a typo). Anyway in this case the Core 2 Duo is better not just because it has 2 cores, but also it has a better architecture that cannot processor more data at lower speeds, and it has a faster front side bus and more cache.
