She's my classmate for 6 years. but she started talking to me only last year. I really like her. but in my past i had no friends at all though i used to be pretty much the same and get good grades in my exams. so i built up an imaginary friend circle. no one knows about this even my mom. this girl actually became my friend only because we enjoyed the same stuff. In the start of our friendship, i told her everything about this friend circle except that its imaginary. Now she wants to meet them. She is not a very good friend. In fact to say in her words, i am her 4th or 5th preference but i always hang out with her. I know she'll ditch me if she knew the truth. Must I say her? If yes, how do I cope up the situation? Its very hard for me to get another friend coz she's popular and may influence others from not becoming my friend. Most important, is she behaving like a true friend? she has always behaved with me kinda friendly.

you should stop lying right now!dont kid yourself with imaginary ppl.find real frnds.i think you should start makin more frnds and loose her slowly and gradually.in reality none of us can tell whether or not she is a true frnd.its for you and your heart to decide.you are sufferin frm lonliness and by this imaginary frnd circle you have been kidding yourself.dont tell her the truth if you dont trust her.if you do trust her and know that she wont betray tell it to her as a secret.actually the way you have written in a way has shaken me.i know how lonely life gets without any true frnds.you might vanish any chances by tellin the truth.but then again tellin the truth now would be better then to have the her find it out later.take her in your confidence and first lay the background of why you had to got hrough this and then slowly and gently tell her the truth.if she is the only one you have told bout your group then tell her to keep it to herself.also if she is not that good a frnd then find a true and sincere frnd and forget this imaginationn thing.that will be best for you!good luck and stay strong.discuss this with your mother.she needs to know!good luck!
if you are too afraid of their cruelty then i guess you can say that they r ur internet buddies or pppl who dont live here and that you get together on your own adjusted times which wont suit her.if she is not close i dont think it matters to her whether or not she meets them!

Well, mermaid, i've been in a situation like this, but it has not gone too far as the imaginary circle. Your friend may be treating you as ur friend but may have problems expressing it. just bcoz she's popular in the class doesn't mean she doesn't have a heart to understand your situation. I am having problems with my friend now, and i am going to send this q to her. See here, a friend and only a friend behaves with you friendly. you've stated u get good grades. maybe she needs some help with her homework. but still a friend is a friend. So go on tell her and leave the rest to her. You can always get new friends in a different place such as the internet or a new school.

very strange situation to say the least!....anyway i would not tell her the truth if my life depended on it if i were you...im not exactly sure what you have told her so far but i would definitely find a reason for her not to meet them at all cost...say something that will sound true and that will keep her from asking anymore...for example you could always tell her you and your "friends" are on bad terms now and have not talked in a while...or something quick, fast, in a hurry cause you do not want this girl to find out!!

Well, truth can set you free! Tell her the truth now before it is too late. And be brave to face the consequences of what you did. Whatever they maybe, i know you've got what it takes to survive. have courage and be a true man./woman.

Tell her the truth. If she has to ditch you, earlier the better. In all probability she will not.
