I am sick and tired of voting for the lesser of all evils. I think that our political parties owe it to us, the tax paying, line towing, citizens of this country to give us proper representation. I think that we should be allowed to vote no, unless there is a candidate that we actually want in office. Who's with me? Let's force them to come up with worthy candidates. We should keep holding elections for open offices every six months until someone can dig up a candidate that we can stand behind. And in the meantime, they can just continue to suffer with the one already in office. Our party chairmen need incentive to find someone new. So, there you go, if you don't have a candidate from your party in office, find one that we can vote for, or suffer with the opposing candidate who's already there forever.

I just do not follow your reasoning. Why vote none of the above, when you can just stay home? It would be IMPOSSIBLE for either party or even independent parties to come up with ANYONE that would handle ALL the issues the way that most of the voters would want. It is up to the voter to decide which of the candidates sees the MOST IMPORTANT issues (the ones the voter thinks are the most important) as he sees them and vote accordingly. Needless to say, the party platform has a lot to do with how the candidate would handle the issues.

This would be a senseless waste of time. Those voting for an actual candidate would still have the office filled with the candidate that received the most votes. "None of the above" does not occupy a position in our government.

While I understand your frustration with what seems like endless accounts of corruption among those in power - your premise is untenable at best.

The standards of those that choose to serve our country have gotten unreasonable high (except for Slick Willy). The public humiliation and scrutiny one endures in a political campaign would result in legitimate and winnable lawsuits if that person were considered a "private" citizen.

Instead of laying the blame on party chairmen (who don't really choose who runs for office - they're called primaries) I throw down the gauntlet to you. Volunteer for a campaign - there's got to be ONE politician out there that you could believe in. Run for office - start at the local/city level, a school board, park district, etc. It's very easy to sit back and complain - harder to actually take responsibility and action.

The only way to begin change is to have term limits.... Who would vote on that? Incumbents!

Revolution aside, we need to find and vote for candidates that have term limits on their agenda.

I'm really with you but, it took a long time to dig this hole. It will take a long time to dig out!

Don't even bother voting. Bush and other presidents are elected ONLY by THIS secret and evil group that's been in control of everything for far too long!...

That's why they have a write in spot. Write in your own name. If everyone did this, then we wouldn't get the lesser of evils. Maybe we'd actually end up with someone halfway decent.
