Ok, I really have no enemies. Or at least none that I can think of. I am nice to everyone I come in contact, even if it is crappy customer service and I want to bite their heads off I am still nice to them too.
Could this dream have some sort of alterior meaning? I have been having dreams like this for a couple of years now. I read somewhere that dreaming about dying might have some meaning like a "part" of you is going to die and be reborn, or something like that. Otherwise, why do you suppose I keep having these awful dreams? Most of the time someone is chasing me through the dark with a weapon, a gun or a knife, and I am running for my life. I can distinctly see the person who is trying to kill me, see their facial features, but I don't know who they are; they are strangers to me and I have never met them.

Being chased = being criticized
Being killed by someone = guilt conscience, insecurity
You probably have some sort of insecure feeling due to the fact that you are being criticized. Yes, you may be nice to everyone. However, subconsciously, you don't feel being trusted and you feel insecure, that being killed feeling is anther way to say you are insecure and perhaps there are some guilt conscience involved. Guilt conscience does not have to be things you did bad. Guilt conscience can be - You feel guilty about not doing enough for certain people, you feel guilty about doing something wrong. Either way, that may lurk into your subconscious mind and that is why you projected bad dreams like that. People in dream you never met symbolize people you don't trust or just your insecure conscience.
In conclusion, you should know what it is once you fully examine your life and your fear.

Dream are what your mind thinks about when you are asleep. So next time you go to sleep think about something more positive like maybe a raise or something. Other wise your dream might not go away. And about some one chasing you maybe your dream is just warning you about something but I sure it's not about some one killing you, because you wouldn't have those kind of dreams for more than a week.

properly in my reports of working with ppl with disabilities and behaviors. those nightmares and your paranoia fall below paranoid schizophrenia. yet via fact that i'm hoping you dont fall below the catagory of delusions and voices on your head perhaps the underlying reason is a controversy you would be able to desire to place to relax. Is there a significant think approximately your lfie it is inflicting huge quantities of tension, or have you ever suffered from any hectic reports if so you would be able to could desire to make certain somebody who's acquainted with what they're conversing approximately. A therapist possibly. My wager is it must be melancholy with somewhat tension splashed in. Your obsessiveness is a factor of the stress you experience, and checking the locks is a definate symptom. i might definately go see a docter

Celery: If you know this is a dream, you can't have afraid.
I read about a similar history. This person decidied no more afraid and in the dream don't scape and try talk with the persecutor. When the persecutor understand the dreamer don't have more afraid, he goes out and never go back.
Excuse me my poor English but I'm learning it.

it's common to have these types of dreams with severe depression. in addition you have difficulties in your life, it's probably your feelings of not having much of a life left coming out. i just hope you have some family support, and would really suggest some medication if you aren't on any yet. Take care, John

What are you reading or watching before you go to bed? They influence your dreams. Try watching something relaxing or reading a fun book right before bed.

Sometimes medications you are taking can cause nightmares. I have heard this about Lexapro.
