I've had people tell me they won't vote because they don't like the canidates. My response was "Then I don't want to hear you whining about the government down the road, because you wouldn't get off your *** to vote." Seems to be an effective measure cuz most of my friends are voting for the 1st time this year. I can't stand those who ***** about what is going on, but won't do anything to change it.

I'm going to answer this in a bit of a different way. Since I started to vote (a year or two back or maybe a bit further) I have always wanted a vote ballot that had an additional choice that reads
"NONE OF THE ABOVE". As this has never come about, I leave and choose not to vote for any of those listed in that particular place and leave the box unmarked. If I ever run into the situation where as I don't feel any of those on the ballot worth voting for, I do believe I would take my ballot back to the person who gave it to me, tear it in half and hand it back. It hasn't happened so far but it possibly could. To be truthful, some don't vote because of that reason. Does that make sense to you? It sure as hell does to me.

I agree with that statement- I think it's funny, though- that people always say it "assuming" that the people who are complaining are the ones who don't vote. Not true. See, the ones who don't vote are smart enough to know that our vote means about the same as a pile of ****. I'd rather not waste my time. I don't complain, either....complaining gets you nowhere, as does voting.
This is America, and I have every right NOT to vote as I do TO vote. This is one of the great things about living in a free country. And since this is America, the land of the free, if I so choose to ***** about the government, I could do so, regardless of my voting status.

Exactly. You don't have the right to ***** if you don't vote. You aren't trying to make a difference, so shut up! It pisses me off too, that people bag on other people for using their freedom of speech. Like The Dixie Chicks! I love them. The country music world pretty much shunned them. Just because you are country folk, and so is president Bush, doesn't mean you stand behind him even if that means not agreeing with him. I will stand behind him only for the fact that he IS our president, but that doesn't mean that I have to like him for what he does for our country. I am not going to move out of our country bc he is in office. You know what I mean. Anyhoo, that is my opinion. GO DIXIE CHICKS>>>>> YOU ROCK!
