If you refer to a Military Section 8 Discharge, discharge under "Section 8" is no longer a military reality, as medical discharges for psychological/psychiatric reasons are now covered by a number of regulations. Perhaps the most commonly used of these is AR 635-200, Enlisted Administrative Separations. Chapter 5, paragraph 13 governs the separation of personnel medically diagnosed with a personality disorder.

However, Section 8 is a type of Federal assistance provided by the United States Federal government dedicated to sponsoring subsidized housing for low-income families and individuals. It is formally known as the Housing Choice Voucher Program, but is still commonly referred to as simply Section 8.

trying to get out of the military by being crazy you mean? Each have their own criteria, there is no universal "section 8" as described in the books and movies. if hes mentally ill he needs to seek help, and it goes from there.

If it's the military section 8, it means he's trying to prove he's crazy, has a mental illness. To me it sounds like he's a pu**y.
