I used to have that happen to me all the time. I started using a bit more liquid softener in the washer and then I used TWO sheets in the dryer. Every once in a great while I would get shocked, but it was drastically reduced. Sticking with the name brands is another good tool. The generic types don't have the same content of anti-static components.

Add a fabric softener sheet in the dryer...it prevents the static.

Maybe it's the type of fabric softener and dryer sheets you are using. Try the Soft Fabric Dryer Sheets from the Get Clean line of home products, and/or their Soft Fabric Concentrate. They're all natural, fragrance free, and totaly biodegradable. http://www.shaklee.net/wealth-via-health/getclean/ourproducts/laundry/dryersheets
