Dont worry. His stool will be all shapes, sizes, colors and smells. This is normal depending on what he eats. Remember his body is still growing and developing. He will experience all sorts of pains from his bowel movements once again because he is developing. God bless his healthy little self...Good luck and give him a hug from me and my family.

Well he is likely just fine, if you find he strains alot, it could be too much iron in the formula. If he continues and it does change up loose to firmer, then I would tell the Dr. or ask for a Formula change, babies are not that much different from us, the stool changes with diet.

well it depends on how long its been going on, if for over 3 days and the primary care provider said nothing is wrong its probably time to go to the ER. But don't worry it might be normal, but still be on the safe side.
good luck, I hope he feels better.

If you are breast-feeding remember that what you eat can effect him. When my oldest child was about 6 weeks I drank some raspberry juice and he started spitting up large amounts after nursing. Which was uncommon for him.

It is normal. The way he poops depends on what he eats. if the doctor is not worried, then you shouldn't be either.
