I've had lots of patients worry that their husbands will pass out or throw up, but it's never actually happened during delivery. During the epidural, absolutely. But not during the delivery. With the first baby, the labor takes so long, and the pushing takes so long, there's just a natural slow build up that by the time the actual delivery happens, you're pretty comfortable with the blood and very excited to finally see the baby!

An awesome movie that will really inform you not only about the delivery process, but also about EVERYTHING you didn't learn in your childbirth class is called: IN THE WOMB. You can find it at the National Geographic Channel website. I am pregnant with my 4th and after I watched it I was soo in awww of what I had learned that I didn't know before. For example: did you know that which hand a baby will eventually favor is determined in the womb?? I had always learned that that was predetermined by genetics, but amazingly it's not. Hand preference is determined when your baby first tries to put his/her hand to their mouth in the womb. Cool huh? It really is a great movie and you get to see what a baby looks like starting really early in a pregnancy through 3D and 4D ultrasound.

Watch Birth Day or A Baby Story on TLC or the Discovery Health Channel, they give good details and show you what you can typically expect. Good luck!

Dont worry, I have been through two births 1 natural and 1 C-section. I thought the same way but they were both beautiful and I feel he will think the same. Better off being surprised, if you expect something you might be dissappointed.
