The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original), The Shinning, Friday the 13th, Halloween, or Nightmare on Elm Street all good scary movies.
Saw and Saw II are good also.

The first "Halloween", still to this day, scares the crap out of me. Michael Myers is one scarey SOB. Stephen King's "The Shining" is a freaky one also. Those are oldies. "The Grudge" spooked me out. Those eyes really stare into you. One good film, that I myself have only been able to watch one time because it scared the crap out of me was one called "The Hitcher". It was made in the 80's sometime and stars C. Thomas Howel, and Rutger Hauer. Good luck and have fun!!

i'm not sure what glinging is, but check out the silence of the lambs. its not exactly a "horror" per se, but its pretty creepy. whats even creepier is that the guy who played buffalo bill is now playing captain stottlemeyer on Monk.
