If you would have been working for your employer at the time you bet they can and they should. It wasn't the companies fault you had to pay a fine, it was yours. Why should they pay you for non productive time. You must be a liberal.

He has every right in the world to do so! In the event you were called for jury duty, then possibly he could suffice some hours, but under these circumstances, your SOL! If you were your boss and your employee had to go to jail for the weekend, would you pay him to go?
