I was in a fight with my girl friend. Sitting with my head down when she took the glass she was drinking out of and smashed me in the face with it. To make a long story short. I tried calling the domestic violence officer on the upper west side but only got a answering machine. When I got out of the hospital 11 days later I went straight down and filed a report against here. The next day they call me in to go over the the report they said. And they arrest me because she said Two days befor I went to the hosp I threw her down. And that they were not going to arrest her because it was just retaliation on my part. The defectives are a joke they even have mimicked what she told me would happen. Hospital records show the damage and that still doesn't seem to matter The guy I have been dealing with Deductive Erick Rodriguez has been an *** to me.Saying you better have some real damage .never asked about the 11 days in the hospital My x Emma Galland always said she could manipulat men with e

get a lawyer and sue every one of them...men are victims too, sometimes, and it is a shame what you have had to endure

p.s. if that is her real name, change it... you don't want to give her more reasons to go after you

I used to work for a hospital and when HIPAA went into effect the patient privacy laws were drilled into my head. Basically, hospitals cannot release information to ANYONE about you unless you specifically say so. Now there are exceptions for minors but those are spelled out.

I can't speak to why the police are treating you the way they are but I can tell you that it's not the hospital's fault. The hospital followed the letter of the law that regulates when, and to whom they can release information.

the full name is the law is the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Violations of this act are very heavy (fines and jail time).

Did you ask about the cops? The hospital where I worked would only call the cops if the patient (male or female) specifically asked. Otherwise the cops have to get a subpoena to get any kind of information from hospitals. Were you conscience when you went to the hospital?

ultimately though, you are in a violent situation and you need to get out. Dump her and move on.

I hate to tell you this... but #1. Your girlfriend sounds like a crazy person.

and #2. This is something you have probably known for a while. She more than likely didn't just go nuts that night and decide that smashing you in the face was the way to go about hurting you for whatever hideous thing she thinks you probably did to deserve it.

In either case... Domestic violence realizes that the fact that you're together at all is the problem. They probably figure that getting hit in the face with a glass SHOULD pretty much end the problem.

NYC cops don't usually mess around... But the woman usually does get the benefit of the doubt in these cases.

Just take your lumps and quit trying to hold on to some small part of her by punishing her... It will just make her mad and keep her coming at you like a pit bull. Do you really want that? People destroy one another from an inability to let go and leave it be less the ping pong kind of punishment that never ends... Im sure you took your part in all this... maybe you didn't actually deserve what you got. But take it as a lesson and learn that ignoring her will probably piss her off more than actually trying to go tit for tat. and unless she is a complete lost cause whack job, that will end it completely... Can you deal with knowing that it's the end? It's strange how we get addicted to sh*it situations...

TRUST ME! I spent 9 years in a tit for tat, very violent situation. It ended when I moved out of state and would have gone on forever had I stayed. He lost teeth, I had my nose broke and it was not pretty!

I will never understand why jilted girls just don't take up stealing the guys girlfriend (or cheat partner) away from them right out from under them... humiliation is the way to go, not violence!

That is BS, it is ridiculous that men are not treated the same in respects to Domestic Violence, women beat men all the time and then they play the "well he (fill in the blank)". I would get a lawyer and all the hospital records and take her a** to court.
