I believe most books can be judged by their covers, except this one I picked up the other day. It was called "The Bibble" or something like that. It looked like quite a good laugh, but MAN was it ever preachy. It's like, the whole thing was just one moral after another, just like the end of Inspector Gadget cartoons.

Come to think of it, No, I don't pay much attention to the Front cover. I can barely remember all the covers of the books I've bought & read. Yes, it helps if the visual/graphic/color(s) is appealing; the size of the book & font too. I always read the synopsis at the Back of the book, though. And that is part of the "cover" ;-)) Sometimes, especially in case of non-fiction books, I check out the Index, too. It gives me an idea of what the writer is trying to argue / cover, content-wise. Yes, Titles have sometimes caught my attention & it makes me want to pick up the book & check out the synopsis. A few such books I've bought because the title first caught my attention : "Mister God, This is Anna" , "Song Birds" , "God On God" , " The Last Lecture" , "A Cup Of Comfort" , "Life Without Genes" . *~*

No, sadly books are judged by their covers. That's why they are so designed. The pictures on the cover often don't bear any connection with the content of the story but are put there to attract you to the book and buy it. So it is true to say that 'you can't judge a book by looking at it's cover'.

I never judge a book by its cover, and yes we should probably get rid of that saying, but I think it'll be one of the ones that sticks around for a long time to come.

The saying applies to judging humans, not books. There is a big difference. My opinion is no, we should no stop using it.

I never do although first impressions certainly can make an impact on how you view someone.
