we have two feet and a heart beat and two hands with two eyes.....if that is what we have then why are there so many people on welfare? can't the goverment build homes and then hire the people who are "able" to be labourers? i can understand disability but when it comes to welfare and you have been on it for two years or more then i think that we need to do something for them if the goverment wont....hire a labourer today people.....save money on taxes....lol

Sometimes that isn't enough. Lets say you are a single mother with three kids and only a high school diploma. Lets say the father doesn't pay child support. Do you think it would be easy to support yourself and your kids with a basic high school diploma job? Usually you need a little extra money even though you are working hard. This is a pretty common case. I always support welfare when kids are involved. Even if the parents are deadbeats and should go get a job but don't, it isn't the kids fault. I say always error on the side of giving welfare to families with kids.

People stay on welfare because the systems enable them. Losers on welfare continue to have more and more kids even though they can't take care of them because the government gives them a bigger tax break, more food stamps, TANF, and medical....so really the question is, why should they go to work, they have it made!

Fine you can pay for all that. I am sick of paying for other people on welfare. Everybody wants to do good with other people's money. Why don't you just do this on your own with your money. I am sure it would work much better than any government program. Good luck with this project.

You are a socialist like myself. I always thought we should keep prisoners in jail, instead of cleaning the side of the road. People on welfare should contribute and clean the parks and roadsides to receive their benefits.
