I hate it when unwanted callers leave me voice mail and then I have to go to the trouble of logging on to play them in order to delete them. Is there any way to block numbers from being able to call or leave messages on your cell phone? And, please don't refer me to the Do Not Call registry. I've already done that. This is a more general question/issue.

There's not an easy way. Most USA networks don't just "let you block a single number" from calling you. Texting, yes, calling, no. You could forward your cell phone number to Skype/VOIP then using the VOIP's privacy settings to block the unwanted numbers. The unwanted callers would hear a busy signal. Of course, your calls would go straight to VOIP.. not cell.

Unless you want to change your phone number, that's about the only way at this time.

The voice mail can be reached even when the cell phone is off, or in a bad service area. since the voice mail is not actually a feature on the phone, it is saved in a voice mail box on a computer somewhere until you access it. That's why it's always important to call into your mail to see if you have any messages on your voice mail when you re-enter a service area, since it sometimes takes a while for your phone to re-connect and realize that you have a message.

I'm answering to add to your question because I have the same question and would like to know a great solution....

What if it is several different #'s, not neccessarily the same number always. Like sales calls or surveys, and now politicians leaving their pitch.
