(although this experience is dated, I feel it's still valid)
I got a CREATIVE Zen Micro last christmas, it has 5GB, a built in FM radio, and a built in microphone, the 2GB iPod nano with no extras was $200 while mine was $185
doesn't that just prove that the iPod is priced with the addition of name recognition?

Yeah they are over priced for the functions they have. The only reason their price is so high is for their style. You can get far cheaper equipment which may not look so nice but has more features. ie radio, recording equipment, cheaper in price and more compatible with mp3 and wmf instead of having to turn them into itunes. I completely agree!!!

ALL of that electronic stuff is way overpriced - the game stuff, the handheld stuff - all of it. You know it only costs them pennies to manufacture - the markup is at the register. The makers get hefty profits from it. It sux.

welll its over priced because it is from china which gets shipped to storge in the usa. in china its a low price to them but in usa its reveres rember that then also u can get free itunes of 5 dollors with the new nano's plus itunes will work fine god stop complaining about prices in the future mabey theyll go higher or lower

ipods are overrated theire are better ones out thier cheaper and with more functions. the dell jukebox for example
