I just watched the DVD of the film "Silent Hill", and I don't understand the ending of the movie!! Why couldn't Rose's husband see her and their little girl when they returned home? Why was it, earlier in the film, when Rose and the police officer were in the school hallway, her husband and the other police officer couldn't see them?? I just don't get it!!

It's because they died in the beginning of the movie. Rose seems to have died in that car crash with the police officer. Who knows when the little girl died, but she died too. Stupid movie!

My favorites from Charles Chaplin are City Lights and Modern Times. Those are my two favorite silent films. Others include... Metropolis After Midnight The Crowd The General (which includes Buster Keaton) Safety Last! (which includes Harold LLoyd) A Star Is Born (with Janet Gaynor) Greta Garbo (with Greta Garbo) Someone mentioned "The Kid" which is my 3rd favorite Charles Chaplin film.

Rose and her daughter died early on in the film so they are in a different existential plane than the living (like her husband).

Somehow the chick and her daughter were in like an alternate hell dimension, but in the same place...It was pretty lame
