I have a pair of tennis shoes that I threw up all over. They really need to be washed, but I've never cleaned shoes before. I've heard of throwing them in the washer, but not really sure if there's a special procedure. I'd really appreciate any help, thanks, Nick.

,PARTY ON NICK! HERE IS THE THING, GO RIGHT AHEAD AND THROW THOSE SMELLY TENNIS SHOES IN THE WASHER (WITH SOME LAUNDRY SOAP OF COURSE) IF THEY ARE ANY THING BUT LEATHER! IF THEY ARE LEATHER KEEP THEM AWAY FROM THE WASHER! IF THEY ARE LEATHER WIPE THEM OFF AS BEST YOU ARE ABLE TO WITH A DAMP RAG! REPEAT IF NECESSARY! AND LET THEM AIR DRY TO MINIMIZE SHRINKAGE!!!!!!!

Not a good idea to wash them in the washer. I find that the washers doesnt work that well for shoes, too many dirty spots left that its not worth the noise and the wear and tear on the shoes.
Honestly? Id throw them out. You never said if you loved these shoes or not. They are always replaceable. If you throw them out, maybe some bum would find them, think it was the best thing that happened to him, happily wash them by hand (scrubbed meticulously) and have a really good day.
And you? You would be happily showing off your brand new tennis shoes.

Washing machines can cause damage to your shoes. The best way is to use an old toothbrush and comet bathroom cleaner. Then let them air dry.

Well if they are your favorite shoes, throw them in...
I would try to wash them with some bleach, and shoe cleaner.....
If that doesn't work throw them away...
And I agree with the person that said maybe some homeless person will find them and be happy.
