How can I trace a childhood friend (purely to see what has happened to her over the years!) I knew her at primary school....she moved to another part of the country (but did not tell me where!) I know her full name: Barbara Jean Hislop (could be Hyslop...we were only 10!) born May 1953. Any ideas? (not F/R!)

Do a yahoo people search nationwide. With an unusual last name like that you should find her somewhere and if she has registered with an internet provider or local government she may come up even if she is married.

I don't know what country you are in, but where I am,they have a special School site - and helps you find a friend from the past.
I have managed to catch up with a few of my old school friends.

If you do some searches on the net(from your search engine) you may be able to find something suitable.

She wouldn't have that surname now(if she is married - naturally), but you may be able to post her name and a little bit about her on one of those "find a friend/lost friend sites".

Otherwise, contact the school and try to organise a renunion - someone may have known what happened to your friend.

It's always nice to go back and find old friends.
I wish you well :)
