Because it wasn't until we went there. That's what pisses me off the most about this war. I was behind the war when it was where it should have been - AFGHANISTAN!

I support our troops and their dedication to their service.
I do not support this war because it is an absolute waste of lives and resources, and cannot be successful, as no one has even defined what success in Iraq would be.
As far as your question in reference to Iraq being the front for the war on terror.
There is repeated evidence that Iraq has no connection to the Terrorist attacks. There is no evidence connecting the two issues at all. So why are we there?
The only thing that this war is doing, is inciting more terrorists to join up and fight against, because there is a new breed of terrorists that don't want us in Iraq. An issue that never would have happened if we weren't there.
The only country we have proven has a connection to terrorists is Afghanistan. That is who we should be fighting if our goal is to fight the war on terror.

Iraq wasn't the front for the war on terror but thanks to George Bush it is now. Bush has said two things: that Saddam was not involved in 9/11 and there were no WMD's. There was no reason for us to go in there and the destabilization of Iraq left a whole through which Al Queda walked right through. So now you have the three factions of Iraq at each others throats plus Osama's boys AND the Iranians. The Bush administration could not have fu*ked this up more if they tried.

Iraq had no terrorist cells in it until we went there. The terror war moves to where it can do the most damage. think about it, would you rather fight where you can attack 20,000 American troops and kill 1 or two because they are so think, or go somewhere so that you can try to kill upwards of 120,000 troops, and take out a few rival sects while you are at it? Bush brought terror to the Iraqi people. Lack of intelligence is the reason for the war in Iraq.
