I think you are being a little naive at best. I get all kinds of e-mails that I have won gift certificates, laptops, sweepstakes, etc., etc. They usually want a credit card for "Shipping Charges" or you have to accept a couple of offers from their sponsors that you can cancell at any time, etc, etc. You usually end up having stuff billed to your credit card without your knowledge.

Good luck with that and if you want, try checking out the website at www.ripoffreport.com

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM

Any email that comes out of the blue from a sender you do not know and offers you something for nothing is more than likely a scam. They will want you to:

1. Verify who you are by giving them your social security number, name, and address. That is an attempt at identity theft. They will use that information to open up a credit account and then charge big bucks in your name.

2. Send "good faith" money up front before you get your prize. That is just a blatant attempt to rob you. You will either never see that prize or the prize will be some little worthless token not worth even the money you sent in to them.

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM...don't be a sap, destroy that email ASAP.

If you didn't purchase a ticket in a sweepstakes, how can you win?

It's a scam.
