i have seen some newer combo-type routers that claim to include printer servers. but i have not tried one and the ones i have seen were a bit expensive considering you could buy a wireless router and a wireless print server for less money than the combo costs.

With XP you can share any printer attached to any PC in the local net. You can also set up a share area on each PC for file sharing. You could set up a PC just to share files.

That's the beauty of IP - everone's a peer, no need for servers

A router can't be a server.
But there are printers designed to connect directly to a network connection (to a router / hub) that can be shared by every computer on the network (LAN)

You will still need a hub or router to connect it to.

They all can. Just share the printer from whatever computer it's hooked up to, then map to the printer on the other computers on the network.
