Should I just not dress up at all? I enjoy Halloween and seeing the little ones and I bought part of my costume and made part for a party last year, now this year I have no place to wear it so thought it would be fun but sure don't want to upset the kids! Give your thoughts.

You could be a good witch then. Like the witch from wizard of oz, or now they have a really beautiful costume for the witch from Narnia. Just play it simple. Get a nice costume and keep the makeup simple.

For a start, do NOT wear a mask -- even a partial one (like a long warty nose or exaggerated chin)! Don't paint your face green or decorate it with warts. You might be able to get away with blacking out a tooth or too (beeswax does that trick!).
If you keep your face open and friendly, you might come across as a "nice" witch (after all, Sabrina's aunts weren't scary looking! And Harry Potter's female profs aren't physically frightening...for the most part!).
It'd be a shame not to make use of that costume. So don the dress and hat and have a happy Hallowe'en!

Be a beautiful witch, with sparkles and some bright colors or feathers or flowers on the costume and hat. Smile and dance around and act happy. The kids should be okay with that.
