If you have its serial number. Go to your service provider and explain them all details. They will di-activate your number to prevent its misuse. Mostly he will ask you to report in police and get FIR registered to trace its location. After that they can trace its location, if mobile is still on and with same sim card. If person who found this has removed this sim card. and using other sim card it can be traced by its corrent service provider. Mostly in this case if the person who found this is honest then it can be retrived back. But in most case you have to forget about your mobile and buy a new one.

And in extreme case you can request your provider to make arrangement to permenantly de-activate the mobile (not number) handset with co-operation of all other providers in india. But still that can be used for other country service provider.

i hate to say this, but you're doomed. all you can do is call Nokia and ask what you should do. my advice, terminate the account to that phone so no one racks up hundreds of dollars in charges. i'm sure Nokia might be able to find it. call them and ask them.
