in my alegbra coursework I have found that the formulaes for squares/rectangles, need help to do conclusion?

The coursework is invetigating the opposite corners in a square and rectangel and I have the formulae but need help doing a conlusion and showing how i got the formulae for rectangles which was- (w-1) * (L-1) * width of grid rectangle is in plz help?

Draw a line graph of the results, x axis width, y axis length. Show that results form a line with the equation of your formula. A table of results helps to show how you got this formula too.
