I'm thinking about doing a modern apprentiship in electrics, plumbing or installation ie phone companies. Does anyone know of any company that is recruiting for apprentiship candidates. Or know of any websites that l could look on for more information. Has anyone done an apprentiship in any of these areas and thought that it was a good idea for you. Thank you.

I am close to completing a foundation modern apprenticeship myself, my local council has a scheme. You could try ringing your local council and finding out if they run anything similar. I approached the scheme, they gave me a short sort of interview and run through a few types of places to work and companies and I chose which I preferred. I have a training officer that visits me in work about once a month that helps me with the paper work side of it. It is a great way of getting your foot on the career ladder and gaining useful qualifications at the same time. Also don't let working on a low training allowance put you off, in the grand scheme of things the first few months of your career aren't that long and if you work hard it will pay off.
anyway good luck!!

properly i flow to varsity to income hairdressing yet I certainly have pals that have executed apprentiships. the two are almost as good as one yet another as you have the smart component and greater of a hands on journey of being in a salon enviroment in case your daughter did an apprentiship yet whilst she went to varsity, the tutors/teahers could be waiting to help greater with the tutorial esspecially if she had a issue doing something. with an apprentiship she might earn greater money, in cornwall, my chum became on £80per week mutually as i became at school and became purely earning between £10 and £30 a week by being entitled to EMA by the goverment. imean obviosly the alternative is hers. wish this has helped.

Hi There

I used to work in an FE college, and I dealt with trainees on Modern Apprenticeships, and the majority of them did start their course, having already found themselves a placement. However, we did have a couple that didn't have a placement and the college then found them one. So it would be good if you could find your own placement, otherwise contact your local FE college and speak to the Electronics department, (if that's the college you want to go to) and sound them out, I'm pretty sure they will find you a placement if you can't.

All the best.

the best way to get an apprentiship is to write to companys or phone companys, many companys dont advertise that they have apprentiship shcemes and thy like to see someone that is genuinly interested hense waiting for you to phone them shows how much you want to do it and will stick at it.
