The answer to this problem is schedule 10-15 double headers that would give MLB 2 weeks to play with. As Earnie Banks says "LETS PLAY TWO"

Yes, they should do something about it because they start in early April and trust me in the midwest we have had snow during our opening day game and even later on in that month. Then by the time the playoffs come around those same places are getting cold. Like in Detroit during game 2, the tempurature when the tarp came off the field was 39 degrees, for the A's series it was close to the same. Nothing will ever change though because baseball is to traditional and they don't take changes kindly, especially one's involving shortning the season and such. The World Series has really only been effected by bad weather only a few times in it's long history.
The Super Bowl is together a whole different thing. They choose neutral sites for sponsership purposes and so they don't have to worry about weather issue's. The super bowl on the other hand is also played in February and alot of the areas that have teams have snow or cold weather at that time.
I hope this answers you question and GO TIGERS!!!!

Playing at a neutral site is the dumbest idea ever. The Red Sox make the World Series but there will be no games at Fenway Park? That's beyond stupid. Just compress the schedule so the World Series will be done by Oct. 20, maybe go back to a 154-game regular season.

The World Series should never go to a neutral site. One of the things that keeps baseball great is the traditions. If we could just get rid of the DH?
The easy answer would be to drop the wild card teams. Go back to two divisions in each league and if you want to make the playoffs then you better win your division. That's the way it should be anyway. Unlike football, basketball and hockey were if you have a pulse at the end of the season you make the playoffs?

O.K. I see where you are coming from first and foremost the World Series will not go to a neutral site because of the way baseball prides itself on tradition. Secondly O.K. you start the season earlier say March 1st, I live in the Boston area and we and New York both still get Noreaster's if not blizzards in March. By the way Boston may be cold but we don't see snow til November every year so they will be able to play in October here.

It is only a minor problem, and there really are no solutions. You can't play the World Series in a neutral city - it is just unacceptable. Similarly, the season is never going to be shortened - that means less money. You can't really start the season earlier because of the weather. There are already enough postponements in April and they usually schedule more off-days in April for make-up games.

That would be sacrilege, no reason to change the Fall Classic, the reason it is so late in October is the addition of the division series and that has made it so long but to me give me Baseball whenever, I love it and a little cold weather baseball never hurt anyone ask our Alaskan friends.

I would say the best way to solve this issue would be to shorten the # of games in the season. Possibly go back to 154 games.
The notion of using a neutral site is absolutely not a good idea. When you use a series format you would lose money if you use a neutral site not to mention robbing each team's fans of getting to watch their team in the series.

The neutral site wouldn't work becuase
1) The cities of those WS fans would be screwed and forced to travel.
2) Teams would be stuck in that city for up to 9 days (including days off after gamjes 2 and 5.
3) That's just luck of the draw. If a cold weather team makes it, that's just how it is.Don't penalize them!

Or... They could do it like football and have the games played in preselected stadiums each year. Still play the games 2-3-2 in two different stadiums. One from each Division. Still allowing the AL/ NL to have homefield (Home Division) advantage based on All Star game results.
