Hi -
BTW means, "by the way," and is not used as a way to end a message. I think it was misused, unless it was followed by something else, such as, "BTW, I'll be off work tomorrow so I won't see you." Maybe the person meant to type BFN or something? If it's a friend, ask them to see what the intent was.

It means by the way. Don't worry nowadays nobody understands a word in text messages, or 'txt msgs' as they get called... Thats the rendy thing to do I think :S Good luck with the texting lol. I'm only sixtenn and never do it because text language annoys me.
