In regards to public education, is it that classrooms could be places where adults tell children the truth?

What I'm trying to say is that most schools live on half-truths and lies, and dissembling, discovering the lie is a deflecting norm of behavior.

Teachers hands are tied on what they teach and tell the kids. Parents get their knickers in a twist if the children are taught something they don't want them to know about (ie. birth control, evolution, etc),

The teachers do the best they can under the circumstances.
