Yes, I'm sure

I find it amusing that the President of the Flat Earth Society, which actually existed well into the 1940's, flew around the world telling people that the world was really flat.

Some folks just won't accept the obvious!

Whoever downgraded this answer is an idiot.

What I reported above is true and supportable by any small amount of documentation. The Flat Earth Society had members up until the 1960s. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they have brand new members.

If you live in the west or midwest or on either of the coasts, you can see the round earth just like they did in the 15th century.

If you are in the West/Midwest:

Go to the desert or a HUGE field with about a mile of unobstructed land. The earth curves approximately 8 inches every mile. SO, find a building or barn or some tall structure, go 1 mile away from it, and you won't be able to see the bottom 8 inches.

If you live near the ocean, go out to one of the large shipping channels on a clear day. Ships will seem to magically appear over the horizon as they come closer to you due to the curve of the earth.

But if you DO believe that the world is flat, I have a slightly used bomb shelter that I will sell you for $5,000.

IT'S FLAT I TELL YOU!
The reason that a ship appears to disappear is that the gravity of the earth distorts the light just like the mirage you see on the road on a hot day.

I assume that we are talking about the planet Earth here and not just the earth in your garden.
I am certain that the planet Earth is not flat (despite Terry Pratchett might write on the matter).
Flying at over 30,000 feet convinces you!
If you are talking about the earth in your garden, I don't know - but we have a dog that digs and digs and digs - so the earth in our garden isn't flat, either!
Give us all some more information as to why you are asking the question, please.

You always get one. Is the world flat.

If the world was fat then we would have unlimmited view and theoreticaaly we would be able to see the USA if we had a stong enough telescope. Also how can we fly around he world if it was flat. If you wasn to believe this go bacj=k to live before Marco Polo in your time machine

On some of the larger oil tankers that move around the oceans, the water level at either end is lower than the level at the centre, therefore proving that there is a curve to the earth.

Yes, I am very sure. We are walking around on a sphere. The reason a person disappears as he or she goes beyond the horizon is because the earth begins to curve at the horizon.

It has been proven and I can prove it in two ways. The first is that you can see satelite pictures from space. The second is you can fly around the earth. Eg. you could fly form chinsa to america and then on to england and then back onto china without having to go through a latitude that inersects america.

Pictures of the earth from space clearly show the earth is not round. Try an image search for proof.

Yeah, astronauts have been up out of the Earth and saw the sphere that is the world. Unless they're lying to us... could be a conspiracy, but I highly doubt that.
