Stop with the "home remedy's". It's the acid in your stomach causing the problem so you need something like prilosec that stops the acid before it gets too bad. Tums works after the problem sometimes. You have a completely different problem. The only thing you can do without going to a store is eat things that are easy on the stomach. Try some green tea if you have some ( regular is fine too ) with a piece of toast. If you don't have any nausea then just eat food that's not fried or hard to digest. Cream soups, pudding, and things like that. You need to eat to make sure the acid has something to work on for tonight. Tomorrow get some OTC prilosec or anything else that works on the acid before it starts. If you have a regular pharmacist then ask them what they recommend. They will already know any prescriptions you take and can advise you what would be best for you. Good luck and God Bless

Try pepcid complete, but check with your doctor first. One chewable lasts 24 hours. Works great. Also comes in flavors. A word of caution,Do not take baking soda for heartburn it is an old remedy that works but can throw your electrolytes off.

Ask your Doctor if you can take Prilosec. It is an over the counter medicine for heartburn. It is very effective. Take one pill a day.
I would not take it without Dr. approval though.
It might take a couple of days to start working but after that you can eat anything.

yes there is something else! i have had the same problem. my heartburn got so bad it was making me sick to my stomach and i didn't want to eat anything. i was eating tums like candy and i guess i must have got immuned to them so i asked my doctor what else i could take and he said pepcid ac. i got the maximum strength and since i've started taking it, i don't have heartburn hardly at all. my doctor said to take on in the morning and one in the evening but i found i only have to take one a day to relieve it. it works immediately too! the best part is it is a pill not those nasty chewables! good luck!

OMG dont use the baking soda when you are pregnant!!!!! It is pure salt and ups your salt levels and can contribute to preeclamsia and other salt related problems. Try sitting in a recliner and lay on your left side with your right leg lifted partly up. This will help you to burp and the heartburn will be releived for a while.

Try and go on the bland diet it gets very boring but it helps also don't wear tight pants....they cause for gases to get backed up and go back up the esophagus...If you have a doctor ask him about Prevacid It was the only thing that helped me and I suffered for two years. But if you don't try Prilosec OTC it is over the counter(no prescription needed) but it is at the Pharmacy ask your pharmacist.
go to the website it tells you everything about the bland diet
AVOID MILK & MINTS, try not to eat anything like 2 hours before you fall asleep, sleep with your head elevated.

try Gelusil..they are expensive, but they WORK! They test like peppermint and aren't chalky. If you can't afford the Gelusil (which, are around 8-10 dollars a box) then maybe try a different flavor of tums...they have that smooth dissolve brand that isn't chalky and tastes really good!
