With the Dow over 12000 for the first time ever!!!!! To let you know, the Dow does not go up as much as it has in recessions. Gas prices are steady. Gas has not risen in price (at the pump) over where it was last year. Unemployment is back to the lows it was at before 2001, consumer confidence is on the rise. Most areas are still seeing growth (if not slower growth) in home sales. Democrats campaigning for congressional and senate seats want you to believe that we are in a recession. But, we really are not. We have it pretty good right now.

Yes we are in a lot of debt, but there has alway been and will always be a debt. Now that does not mean we should ignore the debt, but the debt we are in is not the end of the world. There are much bigger threats to our society right now than debt. I wish debt was the biggest threat right now, but it's not.

No, a recession is when the GDP has no growth for two straight quarters. We are heading into a economic slow down.

My state Michigan has been in a recession since september 11.

No, according to business cycle standards the economy is currently doing quite well. However, real wages are falling, there's a massive trade deficit with China and government spending on things like the military is out of control, meanwhile social programs that the average Joe can make use of are being cut back.

So, they'll tell you the economy is doing well, but in fact only investors are benefitting from it.

Yes,
And your economy has slowed down. Apparently it's the worst for 3 years.
